2012 Events to Plan for:

April 2012 is the centenary of the Titanic's first and last voyage. The original script that I wrote, entitled Titanic Assembly, examined what happened on the Titanic's maiden voyage and looked at why it was such a shocking tragedy. Suitable for upper Key Stage II children (plus) this assembly combines delivery of information and drama.

The Titanic plus Costa Concordia is an extended version adding a brief section about the Cost Concordia to the end of the original script, referring to the events of Friday January 13th 2012.  

I have also produced a FREE comparative study of these two events (Free Scripts section).

I am thinking about writing a First Aid Assembly - following on from attending a course myself a couple of weeks ago. I actually think all primary children (and secondary, as a refresher) should have a mini course in first aid as part of the curriculum. For such a short time out of the school day, this could save lives. If anyone reading this has any views on the subject, feel free to contact me - may prove the carrot to get me writing again after a lazy xmas break!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check your junk folder when you are waiting for a script from me. I always send the script out as email attachment on receipt of order (just in case download from website proves problematic) but I am frequently ending up in the junk folder these days - so please check and then put me on your 'kosher' list!

Also, if you are looking for a specific subject/theme which doesn't feature in the catalogue, email me and I will see if I can provide the script (as part of my 'write to order' service).

Annual subscription now available - the ultimate discount deal - this allows you to download my entire collection - for the cost of 4 scripts (if performance rights included) or 9 scripts (without performance rights). At my most recent calculation, you will save at least a thousand pounds - or more, as I am adding scripts all the time.

If you are ordering scripts off my site as a normal paying customer, a brief word about 'performance rights'. I have always tried to keep my charges right down - and continue to do so. I do not wish customers to make the decision on whether to buy my scripts purely on whether they can afford them or not. I imagine most school budgets can cover the additional 'performance charge' but if you, as an individual teacher cannot stretch to this fee, please feel free (as many do) to click on 'for classroom use only' box which means you will only have to pay for the script alone. If you take out a subscription, you only pay for one performance rights certificate - which for a collection of 60 assemblies and around that number again of guided reading scripts, performance poems and quizzes - is a pretty good deal.

p.s I have been meaning to email feedback from last year when I bought 'The Greeks'.  The children loved it and found it very funny! They especially liked Homer eating the doughnut.  I got one of children to eat a real one and the jam squirted out all over his shirt with brilliant comedy timing!
 
I think the play will be something that my pupils and I will always fondly remember!

Ancient Greek Assembly

Victorian Assembly

I know this production will go well as my class are loving their Victorians topic work and this assembly enhances and reinforces all that they are currently learning.   Using your scripts saves me so much time and is a god-send when we also have to organise all that goes on towards Christmas in school!  (I’m sure you are very aware!) Thanks again Sue for all of your help.  Your personal emails are lovely and so unique in today's internet sales market!

French Vive La France Assembly

We are doing a unit on France and my children are loving the play script!!!  The music/information/etc is just so interesting/apt for the scenes. It's cleverly written - so much information in a nutshell. It certainly makes our lives much easier. I really wish you taught at my school. Komala

Roman/Celt Assembly
