The Snow Goose
‘I love this! It is such a beautiful story and your version works brilliantly and is so evocative and sensitive to the original.’ Jude, fellow writer and English and Drama teacher.

Reading Time: 5 – 10 minutes
I came across a copy of The Snow Goose by Paul Gallico, in the library, at a time that I was feeling rather sad and fearful. Nothing about the last couple of years has been easy and I found the reading of this book a beautiful, uplifting experience. As a great fan of novellas, I found this one to be an absolute gem, embracing so brilliantly the wonder of nature and the power of good. It is, in my opinion, the simplicity of the writing (and I don’t mean that in a detrimental sense – conveying important issues in a few words is a skill held by few) that makes it so powerful and its message and descriptions so poignant.
I hope my adaptation (written within current ‘group of 6’ restrictions!) is enjoyed by all who read it.

Dec 7th (can’t believe last entry was Sept 16!! Apologies – ‘Will try to do better’!
Today I am putting my Snow Goose script back on the main menu in the hope that it will be noticed and prospective customers will take advantage of this free gift.
The trigger to my remembering I had this gem – the story is just so beautiful – was a meeting I had yesterday with the amazing Dave Fairlamb, Natural Links, who is a bird expert working and living over here on the Isle of Wight – we met as two fellow walk leaders at the Isle of Wight Walking Festival and are planning to work together in future combining ‘nature’ and history on our walks together.
Dec 7th is Pearl Harbour Remembrance Day so, again, the timing seems right.
