* The addition of quizzes to this section will depend on response. I am aware that there are many on-line quizzes available, but I’m hoping teachers will be interested in ‘hard copies’ i.e. ones they can photocopy/hand out in class, as a fun ‘end of unit’ activity.

Quizzes on all Units of Work for History Key Stage II (plus a few for Science, Geography, R.E. and PSHCE) are already available as part of Guided Reading Play Scripts ‘package’ – each Unit of Work split into 5 different aspects e.g. for Ancient Egyptians: (1) Introduction covering when? where? etc plus background to Tutankhamun (2) Farmer’s Year and the importance of the Nile (3)Daily Life including pyramid building (4) The After-Life: mummification and Feather of Truth ceremony (5) The Gods. For set of Ancient Egypt quizzes alone (plus jokes), see Ancient Egypt Quizzes and Jokes in this section.

JOKE OF THE MONTH (Taken from Welsh Assembly research):

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet. ‘My dog’s cross-eyed, is there anything you can do for him?’ ‘Well’ says the vet, ‘let’s have a look at him’ so he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then checks his teeth. Finally, he says ‘I’m going to have to put him down.’ ‘What? Because he’s cross-eyed?’ ‘No, because he’s really heavy’ !!!
