Father’s Day school Assembly II Extended Version for Key Stage I
Father’s Day Assembly II script is a longer version of the original. It was written with the addition of the section at the beginning on ‘different types of family’ – to dispel the myth that only the stereotypical mum and dad type family works.
Cast of 30
Duration 10 minutes plus (reading time, music suggestions, poetry, jokes etc)
Child 12: Every member of a family has a part to play.
Child 13: And families are all different.
(Enter Family I – Mum, Dad, daughter, son, Aunty, Uncle, Grandma, Grandad and dog).
Narrator: (To Family I) Could you all introduce yourselves?
Mum: I’m Mum
Dad: I’m Dad
Daughter: I’m their daughter
Son: I’m their son
Aunty: (Pointing at son and daughter) I’m their aunty
Uncle: (Pointing at son and daughter) I’m their uncle
Grandma: (Pointing at son and daughter) I’m their grandma
Grandad: (Pointing at son and daughter) I’m their grandad
Dog: And I’m the family dog!
Narrator: Excellent! But that’s just one example of a family. There are countless others.
(Exit Family I)
(Enter Family II – Single Mum plus son and daughter)
Single Mum: Hi! These are my two lovely children!
Son & Daughter: And she is our lovely mum!
(Exit Family II)
(Enter Family III – Single Dad plus son and daughter)
Single Dad: Hi! These are my two lovely children!
Son & Daughter: And he is our lovely dad!
(Exit Family III)
(Enter Family IV – Mum, Dad and adopted son and daughter)
Son & Daughter: Hi! These are our parents (Pointing towards Mum and Dad)
Mum: (Pointing towards son and daughter) And these are our beautiful children
Dad: Whom we adopted.
(Mum, Dad and adopted son and daughter all hug each other)
Narrator: Ah! That’s one happy family!
