Ever wondered what it would be like to stumble across a group of dinosaurs, enjoying the sun in their deckchairs? What better place to experience such an encounter – on the Isle of Wight!
Cast of 24
Duration: around 20 minutes not including music suggestions.
This script introduces us to the dinosaurs that graced the Island around 130 million years ago giving a clearer insight into what life was like – not for us, course – our life span of 2.5 million years somewhat pales into insignificance alongside that of these mighty beasts – who clocked up 160 million years! Get ready to be impressed!
(Enter Meat-Eaters Neovenator, Eotyrannus and Baryonyx)
Neo: And about time!
Eo: Yeah! Fancy making us wait this long!
Baryonyx: You really shouldn’t keep a meat-eater waiting!
Narrator: Er, I trust I don’t detect a threat in there, anywhere? Everybody else has behaved themselves extremely well so far! Please don’t prove the exception to the rule. Or your stay might be somewhat short-lived!
(All three growl and snarl)
Neo: Is that meant to be a threat?
Narrator: No, just a well-meant warning! Now, come on. Let’s hear about yourselves, starting with you, Neo.
Neo: (Snappily) Neovenator, to you!
Narrator: (Spluttering) Nnnno need, to adopt that tone with me!
Neo: (Snarling) Oh really? Care to look at my teeth?
Eo: (To Neo) Hey! He’s not your dentist! Give the guy a break!
Neo: In which limb?
Eo: Now, now, Neo. That’s not a very attractive side you’re putting forward! Just because you’re one of the largest and most ferocious predators this Island ever had.
Baryonyx: More so than me? I’ll have you know
Narrator: (Interrupting) Yes, yes, I can see where this is going. (Pauses) And I don’t like it! There’s one person in charge here today and like it or not, it’s me! So enough of this fighting talk and stick to the facts! I don’t want any blood spilt here today!
