Peter Pan Play  Sample Text:

Scene V Aboard the Jolly Roger

(Wendy tied to the mast. Lost Boys in a queue, about to walk the plank, with Captain Hook and pirates looking on)

Captain Hook:

Yo ho, yo ho, the frisky plank,

You walks along it so,

Till it goes down and you goes down

To Davy Jones below!

(Captain Hook shrieks with laughter whilst boys cower miserably, shaking with fear)

Captain Hook:                   (To boys) What’s this? Not so brave now, eh?

Wendy:                               (Angrily) Leave them alone, you great bully!

Captain Hook:                   Oh! And what are you going to do to save the day (pauses) without your hero, Peter Pan?

(Pirates all cheer)

Captain Hook:                   (To boys) Now then. We wouldn’t want you to go quietly, now, would we?

(Pirates cheer)

Captain Hook:                   So, here’s a little something for you to say, as you walk the plank. (Pauses) ‘Down with the King!’

(Pirates cheer)

Wendy:                               Absolutely not! (To Boys) Here is a message from your real mothers – ‘Die like English gentlemen!’

(Boys cheer)

Boys:                                   (Together) Rule Britannia!

Captain Hook:                   (Furiously) Hush! I will not tolerate such insolence. Your defiance will be punished immediately.

(Captain Hook points to Smee to push first of the boys onto the plank)

(All action is frozen as the sound of TICK TICK TICK TICK echoes around the ship)

Captain Hook:                   (Gasping in horror) No! No! It cannot be! That crocodile (pauses) always had it in for me!

(Enter Peter, holding up a clock and brandishing a sword)

Peter:                                  And I too! Come on, Hook! It’s time we sorted this, once and for all!
