Emperor’s New Clothes:
Narrator: (To Emperor, covering his eyes) I trust you have some clothes on?
Emperor: (Testily) Of course I have. You don’t think I’m stupid enough to be tricked twice?
Weaver 1: Worked beautifully the first time!
Weaver 2: Who would have believed it?
Royal Adviser: (Spluttering) Well,
Street Child: Not me!
Narrator: A mere child! Wiser than an emperor!
Emperor: (Indignantly) Now, just look here
Weaver 1: Where would that be?
Weaver 2: Do tell what we should be looking at?
Weaver 1: After all, you are the expert (pauses) at looking
Weaver 2: And seeing what you want to see!
Royal Adviser: Which was precisely the problem. None of us wanted to not be able to see what should have been there in front of us.
Narrator: Hold on! Hold on! You’re losing me. What do you mean, what should have been there in front of you?
Street Child: Oh, let me explain. If I don’t, those adults will only start making excuses for themselves. Talk about ‘Pride Comes Before a Fall’!
