Let’s Meet Henry VIII
Interviewer: Hmm, now, how should I address you?
Henry: Your Majesty?
Interviewer: I was thinking more along the lines of … Monster!
Henry: Why, you .. How dare you?
Interviewer: Oh, quite easily given you no longer have the power to behead me!
Henry: I don’t?
Interviewer: Nah, fraid not! We no longer do that kind of thing
Henry: We don’t?
Interviewer: Or rather, neither kings nor queens have the power to do that.
Henry: Really? Well, that’s outrageous. Have you never heard of absolute power?
Interviewer: As a matter of fact I have – but it’s no longer of any use to you. We’ve moved on. As I said the 21st century is a civilized time to live. And we have a constitutional monarch, Elizabeth II
Henry: Ah, well, that explains it! Women! It’s why I was so against having one following me as monarch.
