Description
History of Rock! This Assembly will get everyone dancing in the aisles! With music from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s there’s something for everyone – whether its Alice Cooper or Donny Osmond! And as for those hippies …Do you know anyone who wears flowers in their hair? Or walks around with 6 inch platforms under their feet? Or hangs out with Spiders from Mars? If you do, they’ll be in good company for our romp through the changing rock scene of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s! Duration: Of all my scripts this one is probably hardest to put a time to as there are 31 music suggestions included! You can of course include all of them – in which case (average track excerpt, say 30 seconds) 15 mins of music plus around 5 mins ‘speaking time’ so total of 20 mins. But I’d say that was a conservative guess. Could stretch to double that depending on how much music you want to include – either as background or performance. (Also available for this unit, set of 5 guided reading play scripts plus quizzes – world events of the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s – See Guided Reading Play Scripts Section) |
SAMPLE TEXT Alice Cooper: Oh yeah? Narrator: This one looks like he could do with a few early nights! Alice Cooper: I reckon if you asked this lot who they would vote for … 14.Schools Out – Alice Cooper performing, cast singing (stressing No More Teachers etc). Alice Cooper: Yeah, reckon they’d vote for me! Narrator(coughing) Er, not quite the message we’re trying to get across today – Honest! Now who’s this nice young man. 15.Puppy Love – Donny Osmond
